A Reflected Path

About Rusti

I am here to take this walk with you!

Who I Am

I joined the Navy at just 17 — full of youthful drive and unaware of the challenges ahead. My journey was shaped by deep camaraderie, discipline, and pride… and also by shadows I never expected, including the pervasive sexism of the 1980s and the fear I lived with after being stalked while stationed on a remote island.
Despite the weight of those trials, I served for 24 years with honor, rising through the ranks to become a Chief Petty Officer — a title I carry with pride. My career was built on grit, integrity, and leading others through the storm.
But transitioning to civilian life was its own battle. Without the structure and mission I once had, I felt adrift. I wrestled with PTSD caused by Military Sexual Trauma, unsure how to move forward.
That’s when mindfulness found me — not as a magic fix, but as a faithful anchor.
Through therapy, spiritual work, and daily practice, I learned how to stop running from my pain and start walking with it. Mindfulness helped me reclaim space in my own life — to breathe, to pause, to feel, and to choose what comes next.
Now, I coach others — veterans, women, men in transition, and anyone craving peace after chaos. My work is grounded in lived experience, quiet resilience, and the belief that healing is possible… and we don’t have to do it alone.
Today, I walk alongside my three rescue dogs — Marlow, Sherlock, and Fletcher — who remind me daily what trust, presence, and love really look like.
This is A Reflected Path.
